Entries are open and we are excited to Kick the 2023 Series off next weekend in Durban

NEW BIKE ROUTE ANNOUNCED

The next event on the 12th of March will adopt a new bike route, which will still include full road closure, however cyclists will be doing 5km laps on MY Avenue, between MM Stadium and Kingsmead Cricket Stadium.

This change of route has come about due to the event clash with the Durban International Marathon. B-Active events has offered to change its bike course to allow the Durban International Marathon to go ahead next weekend, as both routes clashed originally near the finish of the race.

The TINMAN's new bike course will still consist of a 5km lap, but instead of cyclists going around the Cycle Circuit, they will head down long MY Avenue all the way to Kingsmead cricket stadium. Here the competitors will turn around and head back to MM Stadium going contra-flow in the fast lane. There will be another turn point at the start of the bike course on MY avenue for the athletes doing a longer course, to turn again to do their next lap.

The Bike laps remain the exact same:

Mini Tri - 1 lap

Sprint Tri - 4 laps

Challenge Tri - 6 laps

Challenge Duathlon - 6 laps

There will then also be the distance along the promenade and back to include. See the route maps here: https://www.bactive.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/NEW-DURBAN-ROUTE-MAPS-Alt-Bike-route.pdf
