SUZUKI backs home grown Sprint Triathlon Series

The Sport of Triathlon has received a boost with the announcement that Suzuki Auto South Africa, will sponsor the ULTRA Sprint Triathlon Series. The title sponsorship announcement increases exposure of the Suzuki brand into the family orientated multisport field.


The national ULTRA Triathlon Series – organized and managed by B-Active Events – has been running for 16 years. The proudly South African Triathlon Series started with 1 event in Durban in 2007 and has grown to 4 large swim, bike and run events around South Africa. Current venues include Durban, Sun City, Joburg and the Western Cape. The Series attracts over 4000 competitors to the series annually, with thousands of spectators flocking to watch the races unfold at the unique locations.


Brand Marketing Manager of Suzuki Auto South Africa, Brendon Carpenter, says: “We are honoured to be associated with this proudly South African ULTRA Triathlon Series. After a challenging Covid period, the backing of SUZUKI gives SA’s friendliest Triathlon Series a solid footing to open the series up to more competitors and to attract more athletes to the sport around the country.” SUZUKI AUTO SOUTH AFRICA has come onboard for the 3 event partnership with the SPRINT Series events, which include the Joburg Ultra 2022, Durban Ultra 2022 and the Cape Ultra 2023”.


Each ULTRA TRIATHLON event comprises of a Sprint race, consisting of a 600m swim, 20 km cycle and 5 km run – which provides the perfect option for beginners and for friends and family members, to choose a fun but challenging event to participate in and be part of the action.


There is also the longer ULTRA Race on offer, consisting of a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km road cycle and a 21 km run. Competitors can participate individually or in relay teams at each event and families can attend and have an exciting day out watching the action unfold at the beautiful race venues around South Africa.
